Please read ALL of the information below to ensure you have completed ALL registration steps in order to streamline your time at Greenlight.

 

One parent/guardian MUST accompany their student(s) on ONE of the two GreenLight nights in addition to completing online registration on Skyward

Both steps are required to receive a class schedule, student ID, parking pass, lunch form, and for underclassmen to take their yearbook picture. 

Information about school clubs & organizations will be available, as well as opportunities to purchase GHS gear.

 

COMPLETE BEFORE ATTENDING GREENLIGHT: 

  • New Student Registration
    • New Student Registration will be held at GHS on July 19 from 9-2.  New registrants after this date can complete the following steps AND report to the guidance office on ONE of the GreenLight dates noted above with at least one parent/guardian.
    • Enrollment Checklist
      • Students who are identified as homeless OR those students who do not speak English as their first language will be enrolled immediately even if they do not have one or more of these documents. 
    • Skyward Registration for New Students
  • Returning Sumner County Students from SY 22-23: 
    • Online Registration on Skyward (registration access opens Friday July 7)
      • Click on the registration link below and follow these steps:
        • Under log in box, click Login Area drop down box and select Family/Student Access.
        • Enter your Username and Password. 
        • Once logged in, on the left hand side, choose "Online Registration for RETURNING Students"
        • Complete registration.
        • Click Skyward Help for FAQ for the registration process.
        • Screenshot the last page when you submit your registration for proof and be prepared to show this proof at GreenLight.

BRING WITH YOU TO GREENLIGHT: 

  • TWO proofs of residence
    • NEW this year:  Bring TWO physical current copies of the guardian of record's address within the GHS school zone (or in county address for those with out of zone approval).  
    • Examples of acceptable proof of residence:
      • Copy of legal document/lease showing proof of residency for specific address (Notary public or typed/handwritten letters from the landowner are not accepted.)
      • Copy of current invoice/bill (electric, gas, water, landline telephone) assigned to a specific address and the primary custodial parent/guardian.  (Cell phone bill is not accepted.)
      • Students who are identified as homeless OR those students who do not speak English as their first language will be enrolled immediately even if they do not have one or more of these documents.

  • McKinney-Vento Questionnaire 
    • Print and complete one of the forms below:

  • Student Health Form 
    • Print and complete one of the forms below (two pages):

  • School Fees - $25 
    • Paying online now will allow you to bypass the fee table at registration.
    • The link below will take you to the secure OSP website for payments.
      • Click HERE to pay for the $25 school fee. 

Optional Forms / More Information for Students:  

  • Opt in to receive information via text
    • update email and cell number in Skyward during online registration
    • text YES to 68453
  • Parking 
    • Complete form and pay $5 yearly parking fee. 
    • Before filling out the online form, you will need to know your vehicle information, the license plate number and student's driver's license number
      • Pay during GreenLight OR pre-pay your $5.00 fee here (also found in online form).
      • Be prepared to show your email receipt as proof that you paid online.
      • Stop by parking table for parking tag during GreenLight.  

  • School Nutrition
    • Through the LINQ Connect Family Portal, parents can submit Free/Reduced online applications, and safely process one-time or automatic payments via Visa, MasterCard, or Discover for a small processing fee.
      • HERE is the link for the Meal Benefits Application, Meal PaymentsMeal Prices, and Breakfast/Lunch Menus.

  • School Supplies 
    • Each student will have 4-5 teachers.
    • There is no specific  list because high school classes vary so greatly; however, below are typical items:
      • paper
      • notebooks / folders
      • pens / pencils
      • highlighters
      • TI-84 Plus Calculator (optional but will be used all four years as well as on the ACT) 

  • Tax Free Weekend 
    • Friday - Sunday, July 28th - 30th. During this weekend, Tennessee offers a sales tax break on clothing, school supplies, and computers.
