The following was emailed to Gallatin High School 11/16/06:

Mr. Lassiter,

            My name is Melanie Crockett and my family and I live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  I had an encounter with what I believe was the Green Wave basketball team last Thursday, November 9th.  (The team was wearing all green warm-ups).  We were at a gas station about a block from Siegal High and Siegal Middle Schools.  I had run into the market to grab some Gatorade for my son who was practicing for their state championship game for 7-8 year olds in football.  I had several drinks in my arms and the gentlemen from your basketball team were all at the team stepped back to let me go ahead.  I was so impressed to see that many high school young men with such good manners in letting a lady go first.  That kind of respect is hard to come by and should be applauded.  Keep up the good work in Gallatin!
